Hi, I'm Marisa - I started Sommerset Paper House after attempting to DIY my own wedding stationery suite. From the minute I got engaged, I knew I wanted a beautiful wedding invitation suite - but had no idea how much something like that would impact my wedding budget. After receiving one too many quotes in the multi-thousands, I started to feel defeated in my search to have a stunning invitation suite within budget.
Through DIYing my own wedding stationery, I learned that even that wasn't necessarily cost effective: I spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars purchasing Cricuts, printers, cardstock paper, ink & more - just to end up with a lackluster invitation that did not fit my vision- and realized I was not the only Bride going through this DIY headache. I began self-teaching graphic design, paper qualities, print methods, die-cuts and even scary words like vectorizing. With this, I set out to figure out how I could meet a need in the wedding industry: bringing beautiful stationery designs to life within reasonable budgets.
And from that, Sommerset Paper House was born: named after my four-legged co-stationer, a Golden Retriever named Sommer, I set out on a mission to provide pretty pieces of paper to Brides of all budgets.
